Child Education
"Let the little children come unto me." Matt 19:14
We at Ridglea feel the same way! We have age-appropriate Sunday School classes from infant through 5th grade. The goal of our Children's education department is to improve each child's understanding of the Bible and God's blessings for them. All classes meet in our Education Building.

Rotation Sunday School for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade!
A teaching concept which uses the senses of sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell through specially prepared rooms (The Oasis, Palms & Psalms, Artisans' Market, and Parable Productions) where the children rotate among the rooms and classes in music, storytelling, crafts, cooking, science or games for a designated 6 to 8 week Unit.
We are now studying Into The Promised Land. Units studied so far have been Dig Into the Bible, Creation, The Gift of Jesus, Teach Us How to Pray, The Triumphal Entry, Noah's Ark, Good Samaritan, Psalms & Songs, Joseph and Signs of Faith. Our final rotation unit this year will be Journey to Bethlehem.
Nursery
Sunday Morning Nursery: 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. A nursery is a place where each child receives loving care and attention. Children from infants to toddlers are in age-appropriate rooms. Nursery rooms are located on the first floor of the church.

Faith Weaver Friends – Wednesday Night Live Program
We offer Faith Weaver Friends (FWF) on Wednesday Nights to provide another avenue for children to grow in their relationship with God and others from Ridglea. FWF is more relaxed than Sun- day morning and geared with higher energy activities. Each group has a Bible lesson, praise time, game time, craft, and snack. We meet every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. beginning with playground time. Then we move upstairs for Bible Class from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. We will continue FWF throughout the summer time with various summer activities. We hope you will join us, for more information, contact Angela Branch at 817-271-2847 or e-mail akbranch@sbcglobal.net.

Our Acolyte's – Be a part of the traditional worship service
Ridglea United Methodist Church worship services are led by a team of acolytes each week. These children undergo a special training class that teaches them to bring “The Light of Christ” to worship by igniting the alter candles for a call to worship before services begin. The acolytes extinguish the candles at the end of the service and remind us that each of us is called to carry the “Light of Christ” into the world as they symbolically leave with their wands lit. Any child in 2nd grade or higher is invited to attend acolyte training and to become a part of this very special ministry. More information on becoming an Acolyte please contact either the main church phone or e-mail and ask for or put "attention to" Lisa Gafford.
